Sahar, Second Grade Homeroom Teacher, is in her sixth year at Blue Oak School and has been teaching for the past 28 years.
She began teaching English as a Second Language and Civics at the City Colleges of Chicago. Sahar had the opportunity to design, implement and teach workplace education for adults who needed basic skills development in order to do their jobs more effectively. Years later, she transitioned to teaching overseas and provided English support to K-12 students.
Sahar discovered that she loved working with children and relocated to California. She has spent the past 16 years teaching elementary school students in multiple grades. She received her master’s degree at the University of Illinois and her credential through the University of California.
Sahar brings her experience and enthusiasm to the classroom as she connects with her students’ interests and needs. She spends her free time by taking full advantage of living in the area by camping and hiking as well as visiting historical sites and museums.
