Berynes joined Blue Oak School in 2015. She grew up in Caracas, Venezuela and after graduating from high school she spent a year in Pennsylvania as an exchange student. Berynes earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from Universidad Central de Venezuela and her master’s degree in Publishing from University College London.
Berynes taught in Venezuela for 5 years, before moving to the United States in 2005 to teach Spanish. She then taught in North Carolina, Minnesota and New York before moving to Napa in 2015.
Outside of school, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, eating chocolate and making pottery.
Berynes loves how teaching at Blue Oak School focuses on building and nurturing a community of learners, in which the journey of every member becomes much more important than the final destination.
