The admissions process at Blue Oak School is designed so parents, children, and faculty become well-acquainted to ensure attending Blue Oak School is the best choice for each admitted child.

The first step in the application process is to complete an online application. Once your application is submitted, our Admissions team will contact you to answer any questions and schedule a shadow visit for your child. Visiting students are paired with a Blue Oak peer host, following their schedule for the day—including attending classes, enjoying recess (known as “Refresh” at Blue Oak Middle School), participating in class lessons, and connecting with classmates. A short, informal assessment with one of our teachers will also take place during the visit. Shadow days run the full school day from 8:20 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.

As part of the process, we ask for a teacher recommendation from your child’s current school. For students applying to grades 6–8, we also request a brief student statement.
