Community Life at Blue Oak School

At Blue Oak School, we go above and beyond traditional school hours by offering a diverse range of enrichment programs and support services designed to enhance the educational experience for both children and their families.

These programs, which include after-school activities, community events, and family engagement opportunities, are tailored to foster a holistic approach to learning. They aim to nurture students’ intellectual, creative, and social development while providing a supportive community environment. From after school care and summer camps,  to athletics and parent associations, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive and dynamic learning atmosphere that extends well beyond the classroom.

Aftercare is a supervised program for all Blue Oak Students and students from the greater community, designed for families requiring childcare at the end of the school day. In the Aftercare program, children play outside, eat healthy snacks, and also engage in activities such as arts & crafts, board games, reading, and get a head start on homework. Supervision lasts from dismissal time at 3:20 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Enrichment Classes

Blue Oak School offers After School Enrichment Classes to grades K-8. These classes are for Blue Oak School students and students from the greater community. Designed to provide meaningful learning opportunities, Enrichment Classes offer a wide range of subjects, such as coding, 3-D printing, arts, languages, sports and games, and mindfulness, allowing children to explore new interests and hone their talents.

After School Enrichment Classes operate Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. for a duration of about eight weeks, with students typically meeting for an hour once a week.

After School Enrichment Classes take place throughout the Fall, Winter, and Spring Seasons, with classes with the offerings changing each season.

Kids’ Night Out

On the last Friday of every other month, Blue Oak School offers a Kids’ Night Out (KNO) for Blue Oak students, grades K – 8 and to students in the greater community. At KNO, students participate in activities like arts and crafts; dance parties; and play games, like foosball, pool, and pop-a-shot; before watching an age-appropriate movie. Students wear pajamas and bring stuffed animals, blankets and sleeping bags to get extra comfy while enjoying their pizza, popcorn and movie of the night. Join us for all of the fun at Kids’ Night Out!
