Rolling Admissions for Classes with Spots Available Begin Each April

The admissions process at Blue Oak School is designed so parents, children, and faculty become well-acquainted to ensure attending Blue Oak School is the best choice for each admitted child.

The first step in the application process is to complete an online application. Once your application is received, the Admissions Department will reach out answer any further questions and schedule a shadow day for your child. Visiting students are hosted by a current Blue Oak student and have the opportunity to follow their host’s schedule; attending all classes, joining in at recess or “refresh” (Blue Oak’s recess periods), eating lunch, making art, exploring an elective and engaging in social activities. Students will visit with peer aged hosts. During this day, one of our teachers will work with your child to complete a short assessment as well. Shadow students should plan on visiting for the whole school day from 8:20-3:20.

We ask for a teacher recommendation from your child’s current teacher, and for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade applicants, we also ask for your child to complete a student statement.

Blue Oak School seeks to admit motivated students who mirror the diversity of backgrounds, talents, and interests represented in the Napa Valley community. We seek students who demonstrate the qualities of character; including respect, responsibility, and compassion for others. Children who demonstrate intellectual purpose and curiosity and who enjoy working and playing cooperatively with others will benefit from the rich educational program offered.

Blue Oak School admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the School.

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, and ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, tuition assistance programs, and athletic and other School-administered programs.

We can’t wait to meet you, get to know your family, and introduce you to our joyful school community.
