Our ALUMNI
Established in 2002, Blue Oak School proudly graduated our first eighth-grade class in June 2007. Since then we have proudly graduated cohorts of learners into the community. Our graduates successfully continue their educational journey at a variety of preparatory schools and schools both local to the Napa Valley and beyond.
The success of our students demonstrates that Blue Oak has nurtured children to be lifelong learners, capable of thinking for themselves and building from a foundation of knowledge that allows them to be successful in any number of contexts. Though standardized test scores are not part of the Blue Oak School experience, you will find Blue Oak graduates on the Honor Roll and Dean’s List of their respective schools.

Ariel's Story
Ariel Kivela graduated with honors from Pitzer College-a member of the Claremont Colleges in Southern California. She majored in international political economy, East Asian studies, and mandarin. Outside of the classroom, she was the captain of the Pomona-Pitzer Track and Field Team and a leader of the Pitzer Advocates- a student advocacy group for Title IX. After graduating, she was awarded a U.S. Department of State Critical language scholarship to study Mandarin. Ariel is now a United States Fulbright Scholar and is living in between China and Taiwan on an Island called Penghu.
Ariel Kivela credits her time at Blue Oak School for making a direct impact on her confidence and self expression. She said “Blue Oak did a phenomenal job celebrating and highlighting individuals’ differences and helping them to dig deep and discover who they are. Blue Oak made me proud to be myself and made me excited to go to school and learn.”
Grace Cooke
Class of 2014
Grace's Story
Grace Cooke is an accomplished graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, in Los Angeles, California.
Grace credits her time at Blue Oak School for making a direct impact on her course of study in undergraduate education and her career path. From her 8th grade capstone project to designing costumes for our drama productions, Blue Oak School provided tangible opportunities for Grace to explore and develop her love for design. “I am so grateful I was able to take the time, with support from my teachers, to learn about something that would later become my career. The project and opportunities pushed me to go from an idea of something I liked to a tangible concept where I felt confident going forward to pursue my personal interests.”
