BLUE OAK SCHOOL SUMMER CAMP
During the summer months, Blue Oak School offers fun and enriching summer camp experiences open to all Bay Area kids! Blue Oak’s summer camp programs are an extension of the school’s progressive educational philosophies that allow students to “learn by doing” in child-centered, developmentally appropriate ways. Summer camps offer an opportunity for kids to enjoy the slower pace of summer while exploring different areas of interest, or diving deeper on specific themes. Themed camps allow for multi-age cooperative experiences with projects and activities that are modified depending on skill, interest and ability.
This summer we will get to take advantage of our outdoor spaces and the lessons we’ve cultivated while providing in-person education since August 2020 to ensure that your child will have a fun, hands-on, meaningful, and safe summer camp experience. Our Covid protocols, outdoor focused activities and vaccinated staff add an extra layer of protection and peace of mind.
This year we are offering discounts for signing up for 3 or more camps, and a sibling discount!

Builders & Makers
At Blue Oak School, we provide opportunities for students to sharpen their building and making skills as they also learn to cultivate science and math skills including patterns, counting, balance, classification of materials, and of course, gravity. These also promote physical development, eye-hand coordination, spatial intelligence, and problem-solving. Through building and making, children are challenged intellectually and emotionally…it takes courage to explore an idea, problem-solving skills to create, and resilience to learn through failure and success. Structured activities will focus on creating connections with other campers and exploring interests such as building games, obstacle courses, and forts. Available project stations will include finger knitting, embroidery, quilting, and simple woodworking projects.
June 14 – 18
July 5 – 9
Aug 2 – 6
We will provide our Nature Imagineers with all the tools, materials and conditions to apply their creative energy to the limitless potential that our outdoor space provides. During unstructured free time, campers will explore, play, build, and create with the help of new friends, and our skilled educators. Example activities may include: building fairy houses, mud kitchens, garden digging, making a nature museum, elaborate boat channels through our sandbox area, and imagining they are a pack of animals. Structured activities will focus on creating connections with other campers and exploring interests such as gardening, water play, science experiments, nature art, making music and instruments with natural materials, and collaborative games.
June 21 – 25
July 12 – 16
July 26 – 31
Expressing yourself in different ways builds confidence and creates new outlets for sharing ideas and emotions with the world. Over our weeks of Creative Explorer Camp, we will use mediums such as music, theater, drama, art, dance, singing, writing, and even cooking to create an awareness of different ways of walking through the world and sharing life experiences. All of these ideas are valuable parts of a Blue Oak School education! Structured activities will focus on creating connections with other campers and exploring interests such as cooking, mural art, tie dying, string art, making musical instruments, puppet making, dancing, and theatrical games/performances designed to build confidence in our campers.
