ABOUT BLUE OAK SCHOOL

Located on two campuses in the heart of downtown Napa, Blue Oak School is a co-educational, independent, progressive K-8 day school. Blue Oak is committed to offering an educational program that nurtures a love of learning in all of our children whether they are a five-year-old in our kindergarten program or an eighth grader heading off to high school.

Blue Oak was founded in 2002 by two families who wanted to create a school where students would be encouraged to stretch and grow and given the tools to become independent learners. What began as a K-4 school with just over 70 students is now a thriving K-8 school with more than 190 students.

While the majority of our students come from Napa, the Blue Oak community includes families from Calistoga, St. Helena, Rutherford, Yountville, American Canyon, Vallejo, Fairfield and Sonoma, along with families who have recently arrived in California from New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Washington, Oregon, Hawaii, Australia, and China. Blue Oak’s eighth-grade graduates enroll in high schools near and far.
